The American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA)
The ATRA (American Therapeutic Recreation Association) is the leading national organization representing the wellbeing and the need for recreational therapists. Those therapists are health-care providers by using recreational therapy involvement they improve functions of individuals suffering from illness or other disabling conditions .ATRA has developed from a membership of about 60 individuals in June of 1984 to over 4,500 in 1999.
